What it does
This page holds two lists we wrote ourselves. Truths are questions to answer honestly. Dares are small challenges to do on the spot. Both lists are sorted into categories with an age rating.
Truths and dares for kids and teens show by default. Ones for adults are optional, and they're never explicit.
How to use it
- Pick categories with the chips at the top.
- Set the age rating. Kids and teens are on by default; add adults for a grown-up group.
- Tap Truth or Dare. The player whose turn it is chooses, and you press the matching button.
- Want a different one? Tap the same button again.
- Show a list to see several at once, and copy any you want to share.
How to play truth or dare
- Sit in a circle. The first player picks someone and asks, "Truth or dare?"
- Truth: tap Truth and read the question. The player answers honestly.
- Dare: tap Dare and read the challenge. The player does it.
- Pass it on. Now it's their turn to ask the next player.
Agree on two house rules before you start. First, everyone can pass a set number of times. Second, no dare should hurt anyone, damage anything or make someone uncomfortable.
Keeping the game fun for everyone
Truth or dare works best when everyone feels safe to join in. A few habits make a big difference:
- Check the setting. A dare that's fine in a backyard may not work in a small apartment late at night.
- Respect a no. If someone passes, move on without teasing.
- Keep truths about the player. Questions should be about the person answering, not about secrets that belong to someone else.
- Watch the mood. If the group goes quiet, switch to sillier dares or take a break with a different game.

Sleepovers
The classic setting. Keep the kids rating on and let everyone take turns asking.
Birthday parties
Dares rated for kids are meant to be silly and safe, so they suit a room full of children.
Camps and youth groups
Truths make great icebreakers when a group is new. Answers come quickly and nobody needs to prepare.
Family game night
Mix generations and see who's bravest. Grandparents often pick dare.
Video calls
Truths work well on a call. For dares, choose ones that can be done in front of a camera.
Tips
- Safety first. Skip any dare that isn't right for the place or the people playing.
- Balance it out. If everyone keeps choosing truth, add a rule: after two truths in a row, the next turn is a dare.
- Let people pass. The game is more fun when nobody feels forced.
- Set the rating for the youngest player in the room.
- Choose who goes next at random by typing everyone's name into the decision wheel.
- More party questions: try never have I ever or would you rather.

Do you have dares for kids?
Yes. With the kids rating on, you get simple, silly dares written for children. Set the filter to kids only for younger groups.
Are the truth or dare questions family-friendly?
By default, yes. Only kids and teens content appears until you turn on adults, and adult truths and dares are never explicit.
How many people do you need for truth or dare?
Three or more is ideal, so there's always someone new to ask. Two people can play too, taking turns.
How do we choose who goes next?
Usually the person who just played asks the next player. For a random pick, type everyone's name into the decision wheel and spin.
Can I play truth or dare online?
Yes. On a video call, read out truths and pick dares that work on camera. You can also copy any item into a group chat.
What if someone doesn't want to do a dare?
Agree on a pass rule before you start, such as two passes each. Nobody should have to do something that makes them uncomfortable.
