Out of 135 2-letter words, 64 are common enough to turn up in everyday conversation. The others are the kind of words you meet in crosswords, science books or very old novels. If you're choosing words for a game with friends, the common ones are the safe bet.
The first word in A-to-Z order is aa and the last is yo. The letter I starts more 2-letter words than any other, with 8 in total.
